Sheriff’s blotter: Aug. 21 to 25

This week, the Sheriff’s Office didn’t have to look to far to track down their men. One rammed his car into a deputy’s car, another was on probation and a third was already in jail. There was one scary assault with a deadly weapon we already covered, three thefts, and a broken window at Pizzeria del Sol a couple of doors

Assault with a Deadly Weapon 05-4804
8/25/05 0637 Hours
SR 1, at 9th, Montara

A deputy attempted stop a reckless speeding vehicle, once the vehicle was stopped the suspect Gregory Ross Martin, age 45 of San Jose, pulled a long knife out and tried to stab the deputy. The deputy was able to keep the suspect contained in the vehicle, while Sheriff’s Office negotiators were finally able to convince him to surrender after an hour and a half of talking to him.

8/22/05 Stetson St. Moss Beach

Several items were stolen off of the porch of the victim’s home. While the deputy was investigating the crime the victim told him he was the victim of the same type of crime last year. The deputy conducted a record check of the last year’s crime and found the name of the suspect. The suspect was still on probation from that crime, with a condition of search and seizure. The deputy went to the suspect’s home and searched. At that time he found the stolen property, and the suspect was placed under arrest, again. He was booked in to Juvenile Hall.

8/21/05 Stetson St, Moss Beach

Several items were stolen out of the victim’s unlocked vehicle, as well as being ransacked. The deputy was able to link this crime to another theft that had occurred in the same area. A suspect has been identified, and the case should have a positive outcome for the victim.

8/22/05 Carlos St, Moss Beach

Pizzeria Del Sol Restaurant was the victim of a window smash. The side window had been shattered, but the suspect did not enter the business.

8/21/05 Stetson St. Moss Beach

The victim parked his vehicle was in front of his home, and had another vehicle parked in his open garage. Both vehicles had been ransacked during the night, and had items stolen from them. This was the third theft report taken in this area, and time frame. A suspect has been identified, and charges will be filed against him as he is already sitting in jail for another theft case.
