A deputy stops a cyclist for not using a light and it turns out that there is a warrant for his arrest, a man is arrested in Princeton for possession of crack and meth, a Moss Beach resident discovers their credit card is being used in Mississippi without their permission, and a man is arrested under the influence of narcotics in Moss Beach.

On 01-12-05, from 2:00 P.M to 9:00 P.M. the Sheriff’s Office will be displaying stolen property recovered in the execution of a search warrant, at the SMSO North Coast Substation, located at 500 California St. in Moss Beach.  Detectives will be on hand, and you will have to describe any items stolen from you recently before being allowed to look at the recovered property.  If you have any questions, please call either the SMSO Detective Bureau at 650-363-4000, or the SMSO North Coast Substation at 650-573-2801.


Warrant Arrest:  11550 H&S 11364 H&S

Deputies contacted thirty six year old [name withheld], of Moss Beach, while he was riding a bicycle without a light on it at Capistrano and Prospect in Princeton.  He was found to have an active warrant for his arrest for several narcotics charges.  He was arrested and booked into the SMCO Jail.  The vehicle code specifically requires that if you ride a bicycle at night, for your safety and the safety of those around you , you must have a front and rear light.

Deputies contacted thirty three year old [name withheld], of Princeton, at the Princeton Harbor.  A search of [name withheld] led to deputies discovering methamphetamine and a pipe used to smoke methamphetamine.  He was arrested and booked into the SMCO Jail.

The victim in this case reported that their credit card number had been used without their permission in Mississippi.  The victim discovered this by closely looking at her statement from the credit card company.  Recognizing that this kind of crime is going up all over the country, the Sheriff’s Office encourages everyone to closely scrutinize their credit statements, and immediately report any fraud.

Deputies contacted forty two year old [name withheld], of Moss Beach in the 300 block of Capistrano.  He was found to be under the influence of a controlled substance, and was arrested. 

As the rainy season starts, the Sheriff’s Office would like to encourage the Coastal Community to drive safely.  Check your brakes and tires, and make sure both are in good condition.  When driving, slow down and give yourself more time to get to your destination.  Patience and a little extra caution will make the roads safer for all of us.
