The big news is that a missing La Honda teenager was found at a friend’s home in Half Moon Bay. Other stories include an RV breakin in Princeton, a traffic stop leads to a warrant arrest, during Mavericks a parking dispute leads to a punch in the nose, and four DUI arrests: two in El Granada, one in Moss Beach, and one in Half Moon Bay. In one case, DUI was suspected when the driver nearly collided head-on with a Sheriff’s deputy.

Auto Burglary-495 PC

Princeton, #06-793
The victim reported that his recreational vehicle had been burglarized while at a storage yard in Princeton.  Somebody entered the RV through a locked window and stole an AM/FM stereo and a CD/ DVD combo player.

Warrant Arrest

Moss Beach, #06-796
[name withheld], 38 of San Francisco was stopped for a vehicle code violation on Airport Road in Moss Beach.  During the traffic stop [name withheld] was found to have two outstanding arrest warrants out of Amador County for 476PC (Forgery of check) and 666PC (Petty theft with prior).  [name withheld] was arrested and booked into the County Jail.

Possession of a Dangerous Weapon- 12020 PC

Princeton, #06-800
[name withheld], 27 of San Mateo was contacted by Deputies near the intersection of Capistrano Road and Prospect Way in Princeton.  [name withheld] was found to be in possession of a deadly weapon.  [name withheld] was arrested and booked into the County Jail without incident. 

Assault

During the Mavericks surf competition, a local business owner got into a verbal argument with a spectator that parked in his private driveway.  During the argument another spectator walked up to both men and said, “Just chill out.”  The business owner told the unwanted spectator to, “Mind your own business.”  The spectator decided not to listen, and started to argue with the business owner, which resulted in the business owner punching the spectator in the nose.  The subject who originally started the argument drove away.  Deputies arrived a short time later and the Spectator chose not to file assault charges.

Missing Juvenile

La Honda, #06-825
A teenager was reported missing from his residence in La Honda.  The boy’s father was concerned that he had possibly been abducted from in front of the family residence. The Sheriff’s Office immediately launched a full ground search, with a bloodhound, and other tracking dogs. In addition a full search team and Detectives were also brought in to help find the child. It was later determined that the juvenile had left the area on his own.  The juvenile was located by Sheriff’s Office Detective Jim Gilletti and Deputy Shawn Parks at a friend’s house in Half Moon Bay.

[name withheld], 26 of Moss Beach was arrested for suspicion of drunk driving.  [name withheld] was stopped for a traffic violation and during the stop the Deputy observed several signs of intoxication.  Field sobriety tests were conducted and Upvall was arrested and booked for driving under the influence.

Half Moon Bay, #06-839
[name withheld], 33 of Half Moon Bay was arrested for suspicion of drunk driving.  [name withheld] was stopped for a traffic violation and during the stop the Deputy observed several signs of intoxication.  Field sobriety tests were conducted and he was arrested and booked for driving under the influence.

[name withheld], 45 of Foster City was arrested for suspicion of drunk driving.  [name withheld] was stopped for a traffic violation and during the stop the Deputy observed several signs of intoxication.  Field sobriety tests were conducted and [name withheld] was arrested and booked for driving under the influence.

2/11/06, 0220 hours
Moss Beach, #06-904
[name withheld], 20 of Montara was arrested for suspicion of drunk driving.  [name withheld] was stopped by Sgt. Johnson of The San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office for driving over the double yellow line on Highway 1 almost hitting his patrol car. Sgt. Johnson was forced to swerve off the road to avoid a head on crash. Sgt. Johnson was able to recover quickly, and stop the suspect vehicle. During the stop Sgt. Johnson observed several signs of intoxication.  Field sobriety tests were conducted and [name withheld] was arrested and taken into custody for driving under the influence.
