Sheriff’s blotter: July 13 to 20

This week features a warrant arrest, a breakin in Skylonda twarted by an alarm, a vandalized car in Montara, a DUI in El Granada, and an "incident" in Pescadero involving a temporary garage door, a VW beetle, and a freezer.

Warrant Arrest 05-3912
07-13-05 @ 1139hrs
Palma Avenue

On the above date and time Deputies were on routine patrol when they recognized a male subject from a prior arrest. Deputies knew that the subject had an outstanding felony warrant for his arrest. Deputies contacted the man and confirmed the warrant with county communications. He was arrested and transported to the county jail.


Residential Burglary 05-3932
07-14-05 @ 1211hrs
Morse Lane, Skylond
On the above date and time, San Mateo County Communications received a report of a residential burglary alarm on Morse Lane, Skylonda. Upon arrival Deputies discovered that the rear laundry room door had been physically forced open and it appeared that unlawful entry into the residence had been made. Deputies and their K-9 unit checked the interior of the residence for possible suspects with negative results.  Upon the arrival of the homeowner, the interior was checked again and the homeowner determined that nothing was taken or disturbed.  Based on the condition of the crime scene, it appears that the suspect(s) were frightened away by the sound of the audible alarm


Vandalism 05-3955
07-15-05 1346hrs
7th Street, Montara

On Monday, 07-11-05, sometime between 0900 and 1100 hours, an unknown suspect(s) smashed in the rear window of the victim’s vehicle, while it was parked in the attached garage of the victim’s home.  Nothing was taken from the vehicle or the garage.

DUI 05-4020
07-09-05 @ 1800hrs
Avenue Alhambra, El Granada

On the above date and time Deputies made a traffic stop and contacted the driver of the vehicle. Deputies could smell the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from the driver’s breath and his speech was slurred. The driver, age 23, of El Granada was given field sobriety tests which he failed. He was arrested and transported to the county jail.

Incident 05-4026
07-20-05 @ 1022hrs
Stage Road, Pescadero

On the above date and time Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to Stage Road on the report of a possible vandalism. The reporting party told Deputies that an unknown subject had pushed a trailer into her garage causing damage. A canvas tarp is used in place of a garage door as the garage is under construction. The trailer was pushed through the tarp causing a tear in the tarp. The trailer then hit the rear bumper of a Volkswagon Beetle causing it to be pushed forward, striking a freezer. Minimal damage was observed.
