The driver of one car shoots another with a pellet gun on Highway 92, a man is found dead in his cabin on King’s Mountain, and the usual DUI’s, drug arrests and auto burglaries.

PETTY THEFT, 06-3948 (Misdemeanor)
7/9/06, 1311 hrs.,
Cypress Avenue, Moss Beach
On the above date and time the victim reported the theft of a dark blue, “K2” Brand, Rosario Model, 26,” 24 speed, bicycle from the trail head at the entrance to the Fitzgerald Marine Preserve.  The bicycle is valued at appx. $250.00

DEAD BODY, 06-3952
07/09/06, 1600 hrs.,
Skyline Blvd, Kings Mtn.
On July 9, 2006, at 1600 hours, Sheriff’s Deputies responded to Skyline Blvd in unincorporated San Mateo County for a report of a possible dead body.  At 1550 hours, the maid for the deceased person went into the deceased’s cabin for cleaning and discovered the subject laying on the floor next to his bed.  She went to a Restaurant, located directly south of the deceased’s cabin to have someone call 911.  There is no suspicion of foul play at this time and the San Mateo County Coroner’s Office is conducting an investigation.

On the above date and time Suspect male, 2/12/69, was arrested for being under the influence of a controlled substance.

PETTY THEFT, 06-3965 (Misdemeanor)
07/10/06, 1130 hrs.,
San Mateo Road, Unincorporated San Mateo County
On 7/10/06, the Victim reported that while she was shopping on Highway 92, unknown suspects stole her purse and contents.  The victim was reporting the theft as she was here on vacation from out of the country and needed a police report to obtain new passports for her and her friend.


PETTY THEFT, 06-3973 (Misdemeanor)

Eighth Street, Montara
Victim reported that between 7/8/06 and 7/10/06 unknown suspects entered her unlocked vehicle and took appx. $250.00 in various compact discs.

DRUG ARREST, 06-3982 (Misdemeanor)
07/10/06, 2239 hrs.,
Princeton Harbor, Princeton
On 07/10/06 at approximately 2239 hours, Suspect male, 12/12/83, was arrested for being under the influence of a controlled substance.

MEDICAL ASSIST, 06-3983
07/10/06, 2314 hrs.,
California Avenue, Moss Beach
On 07/10/2006, at approximately 2314 hours, Deputies were dispatched to California Ave. Moss Beach on the report of a possible overdose by a female subject.  The Victim’s husband stated that his wife had ingested an unknown amount of prescription medications and told him that she wanted to go to sleep.  The Victim was treated by Half Moon Bay Fire Paramedic personnel at the scene and transported to San Mateo County General Hospital for further examination, evaluation, and treatment.

VANDALISM, 06-3988 (Misdemeanor)
7/11/06, 0752 hrs.,
Nevada Street, Moss Beach
On 7/11/06, appx. 0752 hours, Deputies were dispatched to 200 Nevada Street, Moss Beach regarding a Vandalism to a San Mateo County Parks vehicle.  Upon speaking with the County Park Ranger, she said that the Victim Vehicle, a white, 1996 Dodge Pick Up truck, with San Mateo County "logo" decals affixed to the right and left doors, had the right front door window smashed out sometime overnight.

DRUG ARREST, 06-3989 (Felony)
7/11/06, 0830 hrs.,
Redwood Avenue, La Honda
On 7/11/06, appx. 0830 hrs., Suspect male, 03/04/72, was stopped by Sheriff’s Deputies for he registration tabs on his vehicle.  After further investigation, he was arrested for Possession of a controlled substance, Driving while under the influence of alcohol/drugs,  Driving on a suspended license, Misdemeanor hit and run driving, and for an outstanding arrest warrant.

IDENTITY THEFT, 06-3548 (Felony)
07/11/06, 2018 hrs.
Sonora Blvd., El Granada
On the above date the Victim received a fraudulent California driver’s license in the mail.  This fraudulent license contained the victim’s personal information.  The unknown Suspect used a picture of herself and the personal information of the Victim to create a fraudulent California driver’s license.  The suspect then had the fraudulent license sent to the Victim’s address.  There are no Suspect leads at this time.

On 7/11/06, appx. 2041 hrs., male, 7/1/61, of Mountain View, Calif., was arrested for Driving while under the influence of Alcohol and/or drugs.  The passenger in the vehicle, a woman, 7/29/67, also of Mountain View, was arrested for being drunk in public.

On 7/12/06, appx. 0200 hrs., male, 10/20/83, was arrested for Driving while under the influence of alcohol and/or Drugs.

Subject male, 1/27/60, was arrested for outstanding warrants and possession of a controlled substance.

PUBLIC INTOXICATION, 06-4039 (Misdemeanor)

Etheldore Street/Vermont Avenue, Moss Beach
Suspect woman, 12/29/69, was arrested for outstanding warrants and Public Intoxication.  Her companion, male, 11/15/49, was arrested for Public Intoxication.

AUTO BURGLARY, 06-4045 (Felony)
07/13/06, 2146 hrs.,
Highway 92 at Highway 35, Unincorporated San Mateo County
On 7/13/06, appx. 2146 hours, San Mateo County Deputies were dispatched to Highway 92 and Highway 35 regarding a vehicle burglary.  The Victim stated she parked her vehicle in the dirt parking lot area at approximately 1830 hours today’s date and proceeded with her family to San Francisco. When she parked her vehicle she was sure to lock it. Upon returning to the parking lot at approximately 2130 hours she discovered that the entire right side passenger window had been shattered. At that time she also discovered that missing from her vehicle were appx. 50 Compact discs, a hair dryer, a hair straightener, and various amounts of make-up.  Total value of items stolen estimated at $1200.00

POSSESSION OF A DANGEROUS WEAPON, 06-4050 (Felony)
7/14/06, 0925 hrs.,
One Pescadero Creek Road, Unincorporated San Mateo County
Subject male, 27 yrs., was stopped for a traffic violation.  While speaking with hi it was learned that he was on probation for Possession of a Dangerous Weapon with Search and Seizure.  A search of his vehicle was conducted and a bayonet style dagger was located in a bag behind his seat, but still reachable while driving.  He was arrested for possession of the dangerous weapon and a violation of his probation.  He was booked into the San Mateo County Jail.


FOUND PROPERTY, 06-4054
07/14/06, 1405 hrs.,
California Avenue/Ellendale Street, Moss Beach
San Mateo County Sheriff’s Deputies found a girls, 26” bicycle laying in the tall grass, trees, and shrubbery at the corner of California Avenue and Ellendale Street, Moss Beach.  The bicycle was placed into safekeeping until the location of the owner can be determined.

ASSAULT WITH DEADLY WEAPON, 06-4060 (Felony)
07/14/06, 1650 hrs.,
Highway 92 at Highway 35, Unincorporated San Mateo County
Victim was traveling E/B on Hwy 92 at Hwy 35 (Lower Lakes).  He slowed to appx. 10 mph for heavy traffic.  At that time he felt a sharp pain just below his left eye.  He looked out his open driver’s side window and saw a suspect later identified as male, 18 years, (W/B on Hwy 92) pointing a gun at him.  He was able to call the police and give them a description of the suspect and suspect vehicle.  San Mateo County Sheriff’s Deputy Richardson was able to locate the suspect vehicle W/B on Hwy 92, pulling into Half Moon Bay.  A pellet gun was found and the suspect’s passenger identified the driver as the person who shot the gun at the victim.  The victim was slightly injured and the suspect was booked into the San Mateo County Jail for Assault with a Deadly Weapon.

UNLICENSED DRIVER, 06-4072 (Misdemeanor)

Capistrano Road, Princeton
Suspect male, 5/25/87, was stopped for a traffic violation and found that he did not posses a valid driver’s license.  He was cited and released at the scene and his vehicle was stored, pending the location of a licensed driver.

PUBLIC INTOXICATION, 06-4082 (Misdemeanor)

Moonridge Housing Complex, Unincorporated San Mateo County
San Mateo County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to a disturbance at the Moonridge Housing Complex Upon their arrival they contacted Subject male, 19 years old,  was arrested for Public Intoxication

Driving on a Suspended License (Misdemeanor)

Moss Beach, Case# 06-4092
Male, 23 of Moss Beach was issued a traffic citation for driving on a suspended license.  He was stopped by deputies while driving his Ford Mustang with expired registration on Highway 1 near Etheldore in Moss Beach.  A subsequent records check through DMV revealed his driving privileges had been suspended.  He was issued a citation and released.  His Mustang was left at the scene.

Minor in Possession of Alcohol (Misdemeanor)

Montara, Case# 06-4094
Male, 19 of Montara was issued a citation for being in possession of alcohol.  Deputies were called to the 400 block of 8th Street in Montara regarding a “dispersal request.”  When they arrived, they found the young man who admitted that he had consumed alcohol.  A search of his truck revealed an opened bottle of spirits.  He was issued a citation and driven home.

Possession of Marijuana (Misdemeanor)

A 17 year-old juvenile was arrested for possession of marijuana and alcohol.  The juvenile was a passenger in a vehicle stopped by deputies for a traffic violation.  A subsequent investigation leads to identifying the juvenile as being in possession of marijuana and a 40-oz bottle of beer.  The juvenile was arrested and subsequently released to her/his parents.

Male, 20 of Moss beach was arrested on an outstanding warrant.  Deputies stopped his vehicle for having a defective muffler.  A records check revealed there was a $1000 warrant for his arrest.  In lieu of being arrested, he was issued a promise to appear in court. 

Drunk Driving Arrest (Misdemeanor)

El Granada, Case# 06-4137
Woman, 25 of Montara was arrested for suspicion of drunk driving. Deputies stopped here Oldsmoble after seeing it cross over the double yellow line on Highway 1.  A subsequent investigation leads to her being arrested for suspicion of drunk driving.  She was taken to “First Chance” to sober up.

Male, 23 was arrested on an outstanding warrant.  Deputies were called to the Moonridge community regarding a report of people drinking.  A subsequent records check revealed a no bail warrant for his arrest.  He was taken into custody and booked into the Maguire Correctional Facility in Redwood City.

In the 400 block of Virginia, thieves pried open the door to the victim’s mobile trailer.  They took a hot water heater and other property.  The break-in occurred sometime between February 1st and July 21st.

A 68 year-old woman was found deceased by her neighbor in the 200 block of Back Road.  No signs of foul play.  The cause of death will be determined by the Coroner’s Office.  Her name is being withheld until the next of kin have been notified.

Male, 26 of Montara was arrested for an outstanding warrant.  After being placed under arrest, Deputies searched him and found a small plastic baggie of suspected Cocaine and a small plastic baggie of suspected Methamphetamine.  He was transported and booked into the County Jail in Redwood City.


Public intoxication—647F PC (Misdemeanor)

Princeton, #06-4237
Male, 22 of Moss Beach was arrested for being intoxicated in public.  Deputies were on routine patrol in Princeton and found him lying in the middle of Harvard Avenue.  Deputies determined that he was intoxicated and unable to care for himself.  He was arrested and transported to the Maguire jail in Redwood City and was released when sober.

On 7/24/06, an Unknown suspect broke into a victim’s car parked at the Windy Hill Preserve on Portola Road and took several personal items.


Driving Under the Influence—23152(a) CVC (Misdemeanor)

Male, 27 of San Mateo County was stopped for driving on both sides of the road.  During the contact with him, Deputies determined that he was under the influence of alcohol.  Field sobriety tests were conducted and he was arrested for suspicion of driving while intoxicated.  He was transported and booked into the Maguire Main Jail.

Male, 55 of King’s Mountain was contacted by Sheriff’s Office Deputies near his home.  It was determined that he had an outstanding warrant.  He was arrested, transported and booked into the Maguire Jail for the outstanding warrant.
