Sheriff’s Blotter: March 15 to 20
A mentally-ill man was found handing out gold coins at Apple Jacks, a man is arrested in Princeton for holding enough marijuana to sell, two DUI’s are arrested in El Granada and one in Half Moon Bay, a minor possesses alcohol and another (who may be a gang member) has a switchblade in Moss Beach, a car is burglarized in Pescadero, and a man is arrested for possessing a glass pipe in Half Moon Bay.
Gold Coin Giveaway
3/15/06, 1000 hours
The Corners, #06-1653
A man who suffers from mental illness was found handing out gold coins at Apple Jacks Restaurant. A Good Samaritan talked the man into allowing him to hold onto the coins. The Samaritan contacted The Sheriff’s Office and two Deputies responded to Apple Jacks. The Deputies took possession of the gold coins for safekeeping and returned them to the unidentified man’s wife.

Princeton, #06-1661
A man, 24 of El Granada was contacted by Deputies while he was smoking Marijuana in public at Pillar Point Harbor. Deputies attempted to arrest him for possession of marijuana and he resisted the Deputies. Deputies were able to handcuff him with little resistance. Deputies then searched him and found a large bag of marijuana and Hashish on him. He was booked into The Maguire Jail for Possession of Marijuana for Sales, Possession of Hashish and Resisiting Arrest.

El Granada, #06-1663
A woman, 56 of Half Moon Bay was arrested for suspicion of driving while intoxicated. She was stopped by Sheriff’s Office Deputies for a vehicle code violation. Deputies made contact with her and she had several signs of intoxication. Field sobriety tests were conducted and she was arrested for driving while intoxicated.
Minor in Possession of Alcohol – 25662 B&P (Misdemeanor)
3/18/06, 1055 hours
Moss Beach, #06-1679
A group of juveniles was contacted by Deputies on Culebra Street in Moss Beach. One of the minors (17 year old) was found to be in possession of an alcoholic beverage. The minor was cited for the violation and released to his mother at the scene.

Moss Beach, #06-1681
Deputies made contact with a juvenile male after curfew hours. Deputies searched the juvenile and found a switchblade knife in his pocket. Deputies also found evidence that the juvenile is a member of a criminal gang. The juvenile was arrested and later released to his parents.

A man, 20 of El Granada was arrested for suspicion of driving while intoxicated. Deputies stopped him for a vehicle code violation and he showed several signs of intoxication. Field Sobriety Tests were conducted and he was arrested for driving while intoxicated.

A man, 62 of Half Moon Bay was arrested for suspicion of driving while intoxicated. A Sheriff’s Office Deputy stopped him for a vehicle code violation and he showed several signs of intoxication. Field Sobriety Tests were conducted and he was arrested for driving while intoxicated.

Unknown suspect(s) broke the window of the victim’s locked car parked on Cloverdale Road and took a backpack with several personal items in it.

Half Moon Bay, #06-1707
A man, 19 of Half Moon Bay was arrested for being in possession of a glass pipe used to smoke narcotics. He was contacted by Deputies on Miramontes Point Road and found to be in possession of a methamphetamine pipe. He was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia.
