Theft from storage shed in Princeton, a car is stolen from a driveway in La Honda, a homes are burglarized in Moss Beach and El Granada,  a mountain lion is spotted on Tunitas Creek Road, and more. We’ll be resuming more regular posting of the sheriff’s blotter.

07/08/2006 – 12:15am Drunk Driving Arrest (Misdemeanor) 390 Capistrano Rd, Princeton.  Case# 06-3924 Female, 59 of Alameda was arrested for suspicion of drunk driving.  Deputies stopped her, after she was failed to stop at two stop signs.  The subsequent investigation by the CHP resulted in Anderson being arrested for suspicion of drunk driving.  She was booked into the Maguire Correctional Facility in Redwood City

07/07/2006 – 5:00pm Residential Burglary 400 block of California, Moss Beach.  Case# 06-3917 The victims reported to the Sheriff’s Office, an unknown person enter the home through the open garage door.  The person was scared off and fled the house before being able to steal anything. 

07/06/2006 – 2:10pm   Warrant Arrest (Misdemeanor) 400 block of Virginia, Moss Beach.  Case# 06-3882 Male, 52 of Redwood City was taken into custody on a drug-related warrant for his arrest.  Deputies found Kelly in the 400 block of Virginia. They serving him with a writ and arrested him on the warrant.  He was booked into the Maguire Correctional Facility in Redwood City

07/05/2006 – 7:45pm Confiscated 4th of July Fireworks   Recovered Stolen Vehicle 700 block of Lancaster, Moss Beach, Case# 06-3870 The victim contacted the Sheriff’s Office to report her 2001 Chevrolet was taken by her caregiver.  Deputies located the car in the 700 block of Lancaster in Moss Beach. 

07/04/2006   Independence Day For the 4th of July, the Sheriff’s Office, working in cooperation with the CHP, State Parks, Half Moon Bay Fire, County Parks and the Harbor Master, placed an additional 11 law enforcement and fire personnel on the coastside to ensure a safe holiday.  No fireworks related injuries were reported and large assortments of dangerous and illegal fireworks were confiscated. 

07/02/2006 1:30am Drunk Driving Arrest (Misdemeanor)– Ave Alhambra and Camel Ave, El Granada. Case# 06-3795 Male, 20 of Half Moon Bay was arrested for suspicion of drunk driving.  He was stopped by deputies after he was seen driving 50 mph on Ave Alhambra in El Granada.  The subsequent investigation by the CHP resulted in the arrest of him for suspicion of drunk driving.  He was booked into the Maguire Correctional Facility in Redwood City.

07/02/2006 – 6:10pm     Warrant Arrest (Misdemeanor)  #1 Johnson Pier, Case# 06-3804 Male, 23, of Half Moon Bay was taken into custody on a parole violation warrant.  Deputies stopped a vehicle he was a passenger in.  The deputy recognized Jimenez as being wanted by State Parole for violating his conditions of parole.  He was taken into custody and booked into the Maguire Correctional Facility in Redwood City. 


6/13/06, 1850 hrs., FOUND PROPERTY: El Granada; Subject reported finding a bicycle leaning against the bushes at this address.  No one has identified or claimed the recovered bicycle. (06-3412)

6/12/06, 1533 hrs., ATTEMPTED FELONY CHECK (INTERNET) FRAUD: Unincorporated Pacifica;  Unknown suspect sends Victim a check for the purchase of a vehicle over the internet.  Check is fraudulent.  Victim retained their vehicle and the check was not cashed. There was no loss in this case.  (06-3389)

6/12/06, 0630 HRS., FELONY COMMERCIAL BURGLARY:  La Honda; Unknown suspects forced entry into a locked storage shed.  Total loss estimated at $110.00. (06-3373)

6/12/06, 0614 hrs., DOMESTIC VIOLENCE:  El Granada;  Husband and wife were in a verbal dispute regarding sick child.  Sheriffs Deputies were called to scene.  No physical contact.  No arrests. Counseling recommended. (Incident Report 06-3367)

6/11/06, 1737 hrs., MISDEMEANOR DRUNK DRIVING:  Pescadero Creek Road/Reservoir Road; La Honda; 21 year old male arrested for Driving While Under the Influence of Alcohol and/or Drugs. (06-3358)

06/28/06, 1145 hours Misd. Drunk in Public # 06-3703 Johnson Pier Deputies responded to a call of a drunk and disorderly person at the pier.  Male, age 64 was being loud and belligerent and staggering around the area. He was also found to have an outstanding warrant. He was arrested and transported to the county jail.

06/28/06, 0609 hours Misd. Vehicle Stolen # 06-3698 La Honda Road Unknown suspect(s) stole a vehicle right out of the driveway of the victim’s residence. The victim remembers parking his vehicle in the driveway the previous evening and when he returned the following morning it was gone.

06/27/06, 0115 hours Vandalism # 06-3680 Misd. Yale Avenue Deputies were dispatched to a report of vandalism. Two juveniles were wrestling on the ground in the driveway of the residence. The wrestling match began when one juvenile smashed the rear window of the victim’s vehicle with a wood pallet. The juvenile was placed under arrest and booked into juvenile hall.

06/25/06, 0234 hours Misd. DUI #06-3635 Hwy 1 @ Stage Road While on routine patrol, Sheriff’s Deputies came across a vehicle pulled to the shoulder of the road with the lights out. Deputies pulled behind the vehicle and attempted to alert the driver. The driver, Male, age 20 of Pescadero was sound asleep with the engine running and the vehicle in drive. After several attempts driver woke up. Deputies could smell the odor of an alcoholic beverage.  After further investigation he was arrested for driving under the influence of an alcoholic beverage. He was arrested and transported to the county jail.

06/24/06, 1417 hours Misd. Theft #06-3624 Date Street Between 06/23/06 and 06/24/06 unknown suspect(s) stole the front license plate off a truck. The victim was unsure if the plate had been taken off the truck while it was parked at the residence or one of the many places the victim had been shopping. 

06/23/06, 2341 hours Misd. DUI #06-3617 Airport north of Stanford On the above date and time Deputies made a traffic stop on a vehicle and found the driver, Male, age 58 of Moss Beach to be driving under the influence of an alcoholic beverage. He admitted to drinking beer and whiskey at a local bar. He was arrested and transported to the county jail.

06/23/06, 1520 hours Warrant Arrest #06-3608 Misd. 11th Street Deputies were dispatched to a report of a restraining order violation. The suspect was last seen walking west on 11th Street in Montara. Deputies contacted the suspect, Male, age 59 and found that he had on outstanding warrant. He was arrested and booked into the county jail.

06/22/06, 1147 hours Commercial Burglary # 06-3584 Capistrano Road Deputies responded to a report of a commercial burglary at a building site on Capristano Road in Princeton.  Deputies met with the reporting party, and were told that three 150 foot coils of copper building wire were missing from his job site.

06/21/06, 1911 hours Fireworks # 06-3566 Carlos Street @ Hwy 1 Deputies contacted a vehicle that was occupied by two adults and three juveniles who were involved with a misdemeanor violation for fireworks.  Further investigation revealed additional fireworks inside the vehicle.  The fireworks were confiscated and given to the Sheriff’s Bomb Technician for destruction.  The two adults were issued misdemeanor citations for fireworks and released at the scene.  The three juveniles were charged with misdemeanor violations for fireworks, tobacco products and released to their parents. 

06/21/06, 1422 hours Theft # 06-3557 Los Banos Unknown suspect(s) removed the front and rear license plates from a vehicle that was parked in the owners’ driveway.

06/20/06, 2106 hours Theft, # 06-3547 Audubon Avenue A resident on Audubon Avenue was the victim of theft.  Unknown suspect(s) entered an unlocked vehicle and took a cell phone and cell phone charger.  The victim estimates the total loss at approximately 280.00. 

06/20/06, 1130 hours Theft #06-3535 Corona Street On thee above date and time Deputies were dispatched to Corona Street. in Montara. Deputies contacted the victim who stated that some time between 05/03/2006 and 06/20/06, unknown suspect or suspects entered his property via a broken gate and took four 10 ft. metal "T" posts that were lying among other construction hardware. The victim stated that he had no idea who may have taken the posts and that nothing else appeared to be missing.

06/19/06, 1641 hours DUI #06-3528 Pigeon Point Road Sheriff’s Deputies noticed a male adult, identified as Male, age 27 of Montara driving his vehicle in a dirt lot just north of the Outrigger Restaurant parking lot.  Deputies approached him and while speaking with him they noticed he was nervous and he exhibited the symptoms of a person under the influence of an alcoholic beverage (slurred speech, bloodshot eyes, unsteady on his feet, and an odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from his person/breath).  Field tests were conducted and Wilson was arrested for driving under the influence of an alcoholic beverage.

06/18/06, 0203 hrs., MISDEMEANOR DRUNK DRIVING:  Highway one and Highway 92; Citizen’s reported a reckless driver westbound on SR 92 at “Lombardi Springs.”  Sheriff’s Deputies took positions on SR 92 west of “Lombardi Springs” and waited for the suspect vehicle.  After activation of the Sheriff’s Deputies Emergency lights and siren, the suspect vehicle finally yielded near the intersection of Highway One just north of Highway 92.  the driver of the vehicle was contacted and he was subsequently placed under arrest for driving while being under the influence of alcohol. 06/18/06, 0203 hours DUI #06-3495 Hwy 1 @ 92 Deputies were dispatched to a reckless driver west bound on Hwy 92. A vehicle description was given to the deputies and the vehicle was spotted, observed and pulled over. The driver of the vehicle Male,  age 52, of El Granada was arrested and taken to the county jail for driving under the influence of an alcoholic beverage.

06/17/06, 1253 hours Theft #06-3485 Scenic Drive The victim stated sometime between 6-14-06 at approximately 0900 hours and 6-17-06 at approximately 1253 hours, he noticed the license plate and the rear plywood portion of his trailer missing. The license plate was attached to the plywood by screws.

06/17/06, 0706 hrs., MISDEMEANOR VANDALISM: Miramar; Unknown suspects cut down and destroyed victim landscaping plants and shrubbery located on the side of his residence.  Total estimated loss at $300.00. (06-3479)

06/17/06, 0706 hours Vandalism # 06-3479 Medio Avenue Deputies were dispatched to Medio Avenue regarding a vandalism to plants and shrubbery. At that location Deputies made contact with the victim, who told them that sometime between 2000 hours on Tuesday, 6/13/06 and 0700 hours, Saturday, 6/17/06 unknown suspect(s) cut down and damaged shrubbery and plants located on the west side of his residence (Alameda Avenue).  The victim believes that a neighbor is the suspect involved. 

06/16/06, 1823 hrs., FELONY RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY: El Granada; Unknown suspect(s) entered the victim residence through a bathroom window and removed a firearm, jewelry, a wetsuit, and medications.  Total estimated loss at $2,160.00. (06-3473)

06/16/06, 1519 hours Incident # 06-3469 Pescadero Creek Road Fire personnel quickly contained and extinguished a fire on Pescadero Creek Road before it spread any farther south.  The only damage caused by the fire, was to a couple of wood fence posts being used to secure a wire mesh fence.

06/16/06, 1333 hrs., FELONY VEHICLE BURGLARY: Cowl State Beach, Half Moon Bay; Unknown suspects entered victim’s locked vehicle while they were at the beach.  The suspect removed the victim’s backpack and a paper bag, and their contents, which were laying on the right front seat.  Total estimated loss at $420.00. 06/16/06, 1333 hours Auto Burglary # 06-3465 Cabrillo Highway While the victim was hiking at Cowell State Beach Park, an unknown suspect broke the passenger door window of her car and took a backpack and paper bag from the right front seat.  The suspects did not open the door or disturb anything else in the car.  The loss was approx. $420.00 plus the cost of the window.  No evidence or witnesses were located.

06/16/06, 0914 hours Incident # 06-3462 Tunitas Creek Road A resident on Tunitas Creek Road spotted a mountain lion in his yard. He estimated the lion to be about 200lbs and four feet in length. The resident scared the mountain lion off and then alerted neighbors.

06/15/06, 2236 HRS., MISDEMEANOR JUVENILE ARRESTS:  Miramar Beach Area, Miramar; Two juvenile subjects were arrested after one of the juveniles was found to be in possession of alcohol on the beach.  Upon being contacted by Sheriff’s Deputies about alcohol consumption, one of the juveniles ran from Deputies but was caught after a short running chase.  Upon searching the juvenile subject, he was found to also be in possession of marijuana.  He was subsequently cited and released to his mother at the scene.  The second juvenile subject was also found to be in possession of alcohol and he too was released to his mother. 06/15/06, 1930 hrs., MISDEMEANOR STOLEN WALLET/CELLULAR TELEPHONE: Devil’s Slide Construction Area; Victim reports that while his car was parked and unattended in the Devil’s Slide Construction area while he was working, unknown suspect(s) removed his wallet from the door panel of the car and his cellular telephone from the center console.  Total estimated loss at $150.00.  In addition, the unknown suspects used one of the victim’s credit cards to obtain an $85.00 ride from a local taxi company immediately after the theft. 06/15/06, 1027 HRS., FELONY RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY:  Loma Mar; sometime over the past two months, unknown suspect(s) enter two of three unoccupied cabins on the victim property.  Nothing taken, however cabins were “rummaged” through. (06-3441)

06/14/06, 2213 hrs., MISDEMEANOR POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: Highway One at the HMB Airport; Subject was stopped by Sheriff’s Deputies for a minor traffic violation.  Upon contacting the driver of the vehicle, Deputies smelled the odor of marijuana inside the vehicle.  Upon checking the vehicle the Deputies found the vehicle contained marijuana.  The driver of the vehicle was cited for possession of marijuana and released at the scene. 06/14/06, 1230 hrs., SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES: Montara; Victim reports that unknown subjects unlawfully entered his property and were trespassing.  Sheriff’s Deputies responded and the suspects were gone upon arrival.  The Victim is sure there were suspects trespassing on his property because the subjects did not leave the locking device on his front gate as he left it and as they found it. 06/14/06, 1048 hrs., MEDICAL AID: El Granada; Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a “Welfare Check” at the above location.  Upon contact with the victim, the victim was transported to San Mateo County Hospital for evaluation and treatment. (06-3422)

06/13/06, 1630 hrs., FELONY THEFT OF PURSE: Montara; Unknown suspects took victim’s purse from her room while she was staying at a hotel.  Total loss estimated at $420.00. (06-3404)

06/13/06, 0858 hrs., FELONY STOLEN VEHICLE: Moss Beach;  Unknown suspects removed a 1993 Ford Mustang Convertible, California License 3 RIC 712 from the driveway in front of the victim’s residence. (06-3397)

06/12/06, 1814 hrs., HORSING AROUND: Pescadero; Suspect horse wandered onto neighbor’s property and was TRESAPASSING.  Owner of horse entered neighbor’s property to retrieve the horse. (Owner of horse now trespassing!!) The horse was retrieved prior to Sheriff’s Deputies arrival. (Incident Report 06-3392)

06/11/06, 1000 hrs., FELONY VANDALISM:  La Honda; Vandalism to a vehicle.  Unknown suspects smashed out the Victim vehicles Front and Rear windows and flattened all four tires.  (06-3354)

06/08/06, 2259 hours Suspicious Circumstance, #06-3321 Pescadero Creek Road Deputies made contact with a male who was loitering around a closed business. A warrant check was requested from county communications and Male, 49 of Pescadero was found to have two outstanding warrants. He was arrested and taken to the county jail.

06/08/06, 2131 hours Domestic Violence – Felony, #06-3305 Alpine Road Deputies responded to a report of a domestic dispute on Alpine Road. When they arrived the suspect was gone. Deputies requested a warrant for his arrest. The victim was visibly injured but refused medical attention.

06/08/06, 1734 hours Auto Burglary – Felony, #06-3319 San Gregorio Beach Deputies were dispatched to San Gregorio Beach on the report of an auto burglary that had just happened. They met with the reporting party and were told that after walking on the beach they returned to their vehicle and found the rear driver’s side window smashed and a purse was missing.

06/07/06, 2314 hours Medical Call, #06-3308 Farallone Avenue Deputies responded to a report of domestic violence on Farallone Avenue. It was later determined to be a medical call and the suspect was taken to the hospital for a mental health evaluation.

06/07/06, 2314 hours DUI – Misdemeanor,  #06-3309 Hwy 1 Deputies effected a traffic stop on a vehicle when they observed that the driver was having trouble staying within the boundaries of the northbound lane. Male, age 30, of San Francisco was arrested for driving under the influence of an alcoholic beverage. He was transported to the county jail.

06/06/06, 2336 hours DUI – Misdemeanor, #06-3285 Cabrillo Hwy. @ Coronado Avenue Male, 25, of Half Moon Bay was arrested and transported to the county jail after he was found to be driving under the influence of an alcoholic beverage.

06/06/06, 2255 hours DUI – Misdemeanor, #06-3287 Main Street Female, 46, of Montara was arrested for driving under the influence of an alcoholic beverage. Deputies effected a traffic stop and could smell the odor of an alcoholic beverage. They questioned suspect who admitted to drinking wine at a local restaurant.

06/04/06, 0436 hours Assault with a Deadly Weapon - Felony, #06-3233, Higgins Purisima Road Deputies were dispatched to Seton Medical Center in Moss Beach on the report of an assault. The victim had been brought into the emergency room with a laceration to the head possibly caused by being hit in the head with a bottle. Deputies located the suspect,  Male, 19, of Half Moon Bay.  He was arrested and transported to the county jail for assault with a deadly weapon and participation in a street gang.

06/04/06, 0027 hours DUI -  Misdemeanor, #06-3229 Johnson Pier A minor was arrested after Deputies made a traffic stop and determined that the minor was driving under the influence of an alcoholic beverage and without a valid driver’s license.

06/03/06, 0930 hours Stolen Vehicle – Felony,  #06-3237 Miramontes Point Road Sometime between 2330 hours on 6/03/06 and 0930 hours on 6/04/06, unknown suspect(s) stole the victim’s vehicle which was parked on Miramontes Point Road.  The vehicle was found the same day, parked approximately 1/4 mile west of the original location.  The vehicle was processed for prints and released to the owner at the scene.

06/02/06, 1030 hours Theft,  #06-3190, Baranca Street Unknown suspect(s) removed the front license plate from a vehicle that was parked in the owner’s driveway.

06/01/06, 2148 hours Domestic Violence – PC2735 – Misdemeanor Stage Road, #06-3186 Deputies responded to Stage Road in Pescadero on the report of a domestic dispute. Deputies interviewed both parties and arrested male, age 30. He was transported to the county jail.

05/31/06, 1751 hours Drugs – HS11357B - Misdemeanor Palma Street, #06-3166 Deputies were dispatched to a residence on a report of a trespasser sleeping under the porch. While retrieving the trespassers ID, Deputies found marijuana in his backpack. Male, age 63, of Half Moon Bay was cited and released with a promise to appear.

05/31/06, 0207 hours DUI - VC23152A - Misdemeanor Avenue Alhambra #06-3150 Deputies made a traffic stop on a vehicle and upon contact with the driver, Woman, age 22, of El Granada it was found that she was driving under the influence of an alcoholic beverage. She was cited and taken to First Chance.

05/28/06, 2344 hours Public Intoxication – PC647F - Misdemeanor Pigeon Point Road #06-3097 While Deputies were clearing the beach party, one subject was refusing to leave. Female, age 22, of Santa Clara refused to leave claiming she was too drunk to drive. Her friends tried coaxing her into leaving with a designated driver but she still refused. Deputies arrested her for public intoxication. She was transported to the county jail to be released when sober. 

05/27/06, 2344 hours Incident – Garbage Dumping PC374B - Misdemeanor Pigeon Point Road #06-3096 A large group had gathered for a beach party with numerous tents and bonfires. It took Deputies approximately one and a half hours to disperse the crowd of 200. The beach area is closed after dark and bonfires are not permitted.

05/27/06, 1755 hours Incident -  Capistrano Road #06-3091 Deputies were dispatched to the Half Moon Bay Brewing Company on a report of an assault in progress. The manager stated that he saw two male subjects fighting in the parking lot. At approximately 1830 hours Seton Coastside Hospital called to report a male seeking medical attention for a laceration to his lower lip. The male refused to press charges stating that he had provoked the incident.

05/27/06, 1308 hours Incident –  Francisco Street #06-3084 A resident of Francisco Street woke to find that two couches were dumped in his front yard. It was determined that the couches were meant to be dropped at another address.

05/27/06, 0228 hours DUI – 23152 (A) Misdemeanor Coronado Street, #06-3079 Male, age 27, of Pacifica was arrested for driving under the influence of an alcoholic beverage. Deputies found him stopped dangerously close to a cliff with the vehicle in gear. It took deputies 2-3 minutes to wake him and retrieve his keys. He was booked into the county jail.

05/26/06, 1519 hours Theft – PC 488 Misdemeanor Airport Road, #06-3062 A shop owner placed a canopy next to his garbage cans. He heard a vehicle driving away and noticed that his canopy was missing.
