Sheriff’s blotter: Oct 16 to 18

This week: Vehicle burglary at Montara State Beach, assault with an empty Pringle’s can on a Samtrans bus, a DUI arrest in Montara, and a couple of nineteen-year-old knuckleheads found sleeping in someone else’s garage with their stolen goods in Montara.

Vehicle Burglary: 460(b) PC

The victim and his girlfriend left their car parked in the parking lot of 8150 Cabrillo Highway, formerly the Outrigger restaurant, and went for a walk on the beach at 8:30 p.m.  When they returned from their walk at 11:00 p.m. they discovered that the CD player, the speaker box, and the rear license plate had been stolen.

Half Moon Bay, #05-5805
A juvenile came into the North Coast Substation to report that he had been assaulted on a SamTrans Bus on the way home from school.  The victim juvenile got into an argument with another unknown juvenile on the bus.  The argument escalated and the suspect threw an empty Pringles chips can at the victim.  This unconventional weapon caused a slight cut on the bridge of the victim’s nose when it hit him.  Fortunately for the victim, the can was empty, so the injury was minor. 


DUI Arrest: 23152(a) CVC

Montara, #05-5808
Deputies stopped a fifty one year old of San Mateo County just off of Highway 1 in Montara.  Suspect did not understand why his speeding, driving across the double yellow lines and weaving would get him stopped.  Once he was stopped, he was found to be under the influence of alcohol.  He attempted to run away, but was unsuccessful in his inebriated state.  He was arrested for DUI and booked into the SMCO Jail.

Montara, #05-5826
Deputies responded to a residence on Audubon where the victim had called 911 to report that she had found that two unwelcome visitors had broken into her house and were sleeping in her garage.  Deputies arrested nineteen year old of Half Moon Bay, and nineteen year old of Montara at the scene.  Second suspect was found in possession of stolen property from several auto burglaries that occurred the week before in Half Moon Bay.  Suspect is now sleeping comfortably in the SMCO Jail.
