Incident Report 05-5317

Princeton

A citizen reported a man was standing in the parking lot of the Harbor pointing a gun at a man sitting in a van. As several Deputies responded to the scene they were told the suspect jumped into a Honda and was now leaving the Harbor, and the victim in the van was now following him.  Upon the arrival of the deputies they spotted both vehicles and conducted a “felony” car stop, where both subjects were ordered out of their vehicles at gun point, and handcuffed. A search was conducted, and a very realistic looking gun was found. It turned out the suspect and victim were friends. Suspect had purchased a BB gun, and they were playing with it by pointing it at each other. Once the deputies were finished talking to the both of them they realized what they were doing was not the “smartest” thing they have ever done.
