Sheriff’s crime log for Jan. 8 to 13

This week’s report features possession of a controlled substance, warrant arrest, drunkeness on foot and at the wheel, and one residential burglary.

01-08-05 Possession of a controlled substance 05-131
Highway 1 @ Higgins Purisima

Sheriff’s Deputies were on routine patrol on Highway one when they came across a vehicle stopped on the Highway and partially blocking one of the lanes. As the Deputy approached the vehicle it appeared to be unoccupied with the engine running and the lights on. They noticed a person walking in their direction and later identified a man, age 24 of Union City as the driver. He showed symptoms of being under the influence of a controlled substance and when Deputies questioned him about it, he admitted that he was in possession of and under the influence of a controlled substance. He was arrested and booked into the county jail.

01-08-05 Warrant Arrest 05-138
El Granada

On Saturday January 08, 2005 Deputies responded to the intersection of Navarra and Escalona Streets on a vehicle enforcement stop. A check with county communications confirmed that one of the occupants of the vehicle had an outstanding warrant. A man, age 50, of El Granada was arrested and booked into the county jail.

01-08-05 Drunk in Public 05-140
Princeton

Deputies received a call about a man at a local hall who was intoxicated and acting belligerent towards other members of the hall. The anonymous caller was concerned that the subject, age 47, of El Granada was too intoxicated to care for himself and might harm someone. After numerous attempts to gain his cooperation Deputies placed him under arrest. He was also found to be in possession of a controlled substance. He was transported to the county jail.

Moss Beach

Deputies were dispatched to Cypress Cove in Moss Beach on the report of an intoxicated and irrational female. Upon arrival they met with a woman, age 53, of Boulder Creek. She was found to be too intoxicated to care for herself. She was transported and booked into the county jail.

01-10-05 Possession of a controlled substance 05-163
Skyline Blvd.

Deputies were on routine patrol on Skyline Blvd. when they saw a pick-up trunk parked in a turnout. They approached the vehicle to see if the occupants needed assistance. The driver, age 29, and his passenger, age 33, of Hollister both showed signs of being under the influence of a controlled substance. A search of the vehicle revealed that they were also in possession of a controlled substance. Both were arrested and transported to the county jail.

01-11-05 Residential Burglary 05-192
El Granada

Deputies were dispatched to Francisco Street in El Granada on the report of a residential burglary. Unknown subjects entered the home and took a video camcorder.

01-12-05 Possession of a controlled substance 05-213
Moss Beach

Deputies effected a traffic stop for a vehicle code violation.  The suspect’s CDL and the vehicle’s registration permit were both expired.  During an inventory search of the vehicle prior to impound, the suspect is found in possession of a controlled substance and controlled substance smoking paraphernalia.  The suspect, age 19, of Moss Beach is taken into custody and booked for the above violations. 

 

01-13-05 DUI 05-239
Princeton

Deputies effected a traffic stop on a vehicle that was having trouble staying within the boundaries of the road. The driver, age 56, of Moss Beach was found to be driving under the influence of an alcoholic beverage. He was arrested and booked into the county jail.
