Sheriff’s log: Feb. 17 to 19

The week, in addition to an apparently exciting arrest, there was a drug possession, an auto burglary. and three drunks—one in public and two in cars.

Drug Possession 05-927 02-17-05 @ 0033hrs Hwy 1, Montara Beach

Deputies were on routine patrol when they came across a car parked in a parking lot of a business that has been closed for sometime. Deputies contacted the occupants and discovered them to be in possession of a controlled substance. Deputies arrested the driver and a passenger. They were booked into the county jail.

Warrant Arrest 05-964 02-18-05 @1310hrs Stage Road, Pescadero

Deputies effected a traffic stop on a vehicle with three occupants. They ran a wants and warrants check through county communications. Two of the three came back clear. The third subject, age 30,  of East Palo Alto had a warrant for $ 75,000.00. While attempting to take him into custody, he broke free and ran away, jumping into Pescadero Creek. A Deputy jumped into the creek after him, although the water was deep, he was able to catch him and take him into custody. Once he was taken into custody he was found to be wearing two bullet proof vests, and had an empty gun holster. No firearm was located in the creek.

Auto Burglary 05-968 02-18-05 @ 1330hrs Purisma Open Space Parking Lot

Deputies were dispatched to the above location on the report of an auto burglary. Unknown subjects entered a vehicle and took various items.

Drunk in Public 05-972 02-18-05 @ 1917hrs 5th Street, Montara

Deputies were dispatched to the above address on the report of an unwanted subject. The reporting party informed Deputies that the subject, age 44, of Montara was asleep on his sofa. She had been brought to his home by a neighbor who found her asleep in his driveway. When asked where she lived she pointed to the reporting party’s residence. The reporting party let her in and called the Sheriff’s Office. Subject was unable to care for herself, and she was arrested and booked into the

county jail to be released when sober.

DUI 05-975 02-19-05 @ 0048hrs Capistrano Road, Princeton

Deputies effected a traffic stop on a vehicle and found the driver, age 43, of Moss Beach to be driving under the influence of an alcoholic beverage. He was arrested and transported to the county jail.

DUI 05-999 02-19-05 @ 2207hrs Stage Road, Pescadero

On the above date and time Deputies responded to Stage road in Pescadero on the report of a vehicle accident with the driver walking away from the vehicle. Deputies saw a truck that had driven through a fence and was parked with its lights on. The front of the truck had a fence post sticking out of it. Deputies searched the area and found the subject, age 31, of San Gregorio about 1.5 miles from the scene. He was found to be driving under the influence of an alcoholic beverage. He was placed under arrest and transported to the county jail.
