Did you leave a wallet at the Easy Mart in El Granada? If so, the Sheriff has your wallet at the Moss Beach substation.

In other action, A DUI leads to a crash in Princeton,  a missing girl is located,  a missing kayak is reunited with its owner, a suicide threat is foiled, cars are broken into at Skeggs Point (on Skyline) and La Honda.

Driving Under the Influence

Princeton, #05-6234

Deputies were dispatched to the area of 459 Prospect Way regarding a single vehicle auto accident.  Upon arrival, Deputies located a single vehicle, off the road, partially in a ditch. Upon contact with the driver, age 40 of Pacifica, who was still seated behind the steering wheel of the vehicle, it was determined that he was under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.  Several sobriety tests were administered to the driver and he was subsequently placed under arrest for driving while under the influence.

An employee of the Easy Mart, 61 Avenue Alhambra called Deputies to report that she had found a wallet in her store.  The wallet contained cash, a check, and miscellaneous papers identifying the possible owner of the wallet.  After several attempts at contacting the owner, the wallet was logged and placed into Sheriff’s Office Property for safekeeping.


Located Missing Person

Miramar, #05-6258

While on patrol in the area of Highway One and Magellan Ave, Sheriff’s Deputies located a reported missing person seated in a parked vehicle.  The missing subject said that she had been in an argument with her father and had left the residence without telling her father where she was going.  The missing person’s father was contacted and responded to the area to take custody of his daughter.

Miramar, #05-6263

Deputies were dispatched to the area of Miramar Beach on the report of an abandoned kayak found on Miramar Beach.  Upon arrival, Deputies checked the area and located the kayak full of water and sand.  Also in the area they located a pair of men’s sandal shoes.  A search of the area for the owner or previous occupant of the kayak was unsuccessful and the kayak was taken for safe keeping.  Later in the afternoon, the owner of a kayak called the Sheriff’s Office to report that his kayak had broken away from its mooring and had disappeared.  After confirming the identity of the subject and determining that he was the owner of the kayak, the kayak and its owner were reunited.

Psychiatric Evaluation

Deputies were dispatched to a subject who was threatening to kill herself.  Upon arrival, Deputies, through a closed and locked door, made contact with a subject who threatened to kill herself with a knife.  After several attempts to convince the subject to surrender failed, force was used to enter the room and disarmed the subject.  The subject was placed in protective custody and transported to a hospital for Psychiatric Evaluation without injury.


Auto Burglary

Skeggs Point, #05-6251

Deputies were dispatched to Skeggs Point parking lot on SR35 regarding a vehicle burglary.  The victim reports that sometime between 3:30 and 4:40 PM, an unknown suspect smashed the driver’s window of his vehicle and took his wallet containing cash, identification, and miscellaneous credit cards, his “Leatherman” tool, and a Global Positioning Satellite device.  The case is under investigation by the Sheriff’s Office.

Auto Burglary

La Honda, #05-6350

Deputies were dispatched to Cuesta Real in La Honda regarding a vehicle burglary.  The victim reported that sometime between 1:30 and 8:00 AM, unknown suspects smashed the passenger window on his vehicle and took his portable DVD player.  The case is under investigation by the Sheriff’s Office.
