A stolen vehicle recoved at Grey Whale Cove, a vehicle vandalized in La Honda, and a DUI at 92 and Highway 1, and a high-altitude theft:

Between the dates and hours of 08/19/11 at 1300 hours, and 08/22/11 at 0900 hours, unknown suspects damaged and stole several pieces of coaxial cable from open space adjacent to the cellular (wireless) service tower atop Montara mountain.

Grey Whale Cove State Beach Parking Lot, Montara
Vehicle Recovered
Deputies observed a vehicle parked in the Grey Whale Cove Parking Lot. The vehicle was unoccupied and the engine was cold. A DMV check of the vehicle showed that the vehicle had been stolen from South San Francisco earlier in the day. The vehicle ignition had been punched and the driver’s side door handle fell off when touched.

Theft

7500 block of Alpine Road, La Honda
Vandalism
The County of San Mateo became a victim of vandalism when unknown suspect(s) broke the side windows of the minimum security detention building located on Alpine Rd. in La Honda. The Suspect(s), while inside the building discharged a fire extinguisher, then tried to break out an interior window, then left the area.

Cabrillo Hwy / San Mateo Road
DUI
Deputies contacted the driver of a vehicle who was observed weaving in and out of the designated lines of the highway. The driver did not know where he was or where he was going. Field sobriety tests were conducted and failed. The driver was arrested and taken to the county jail.
