Carpet cleaner stolen from a vehicle in El Granada, attempted identity theft, graffiti arrest of a “spray paint enthusiast”, and an auto burglary in El Granada of a laptop and purse. And a larger than average vehicular pot bust:

The suspects are contacted inside their vehicle in the parking lot of Pescadero State Beach.  Subsequently it is learned that the female passenger of the vehicle is on active probation out of Mendocino County….  The male driver of the vehicle is found to have a suspended license. The driver admitted driving to the beach, stating that he did not want to lie about it.  A search of the vehicle revealed approximately 10 lbs. of marijuana packaged and marked for transport and resale.  Both the driver and the passenger are arrested and booked accordingly and the vehicle is towed from the scene and impounded.

400 block of San Juan Ave., El Granada
Unknown suspects stole a rented professional carpet cleaner out of a vehicle that was parked on San Juan Ave.

Drugs
03/02/11 @ 2147 hours
300 block of California Ave., Moss Beach
A resident called the Sheriff’s Office to report her adult son’s drug use in the residence. The subject is on active probation with search and seizure. His bedroom was searched and drugs were found. He was arrested and booked into the county jail.

ID Theft
03/13/11 @ 1711 hours
Vermont Ave., Moss Beach
A citizen reported that an unknown person tried to access her credit information using a web site freecreditreport.com. She requested a fraud alert be placed on her account.

DUI
03/04/11 @ 0200 hours
Cabrillo Hwy / Coronado St.
Deputies observed a vehicle drifting over the marked lines of the highway. They made a traffic stop to check the drivers welfare. Upon contact with the driver they could smell the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from his person. The driver admitted to consuming alcohol before driving. A DUI investigation was conducted and failed. The driver was arrested and taken to the county jail.

Cabrillo Hwy / Marine Blvd., Moss Beach
On 03-07-2011, at approximately 0821 hours, a subject was contacted during a traffic stop at the intersection of Marine Boulevard and Cabrillo Highway in Unincorporated San Mateo County (Moss Beach). A records check through County Communications produced a warrant for his arrest. While conducting a search, incident to arrest a small clear zip lock bag containing crystal methamphetamines inside was located on his person. This is a violation of H&S 11377(a) - Possession of a controlled substance. The subject was arrested and taken to the county jail.

Vandalism

Carlos St. / Sixteenth St., Moss Beach
Deputies were dispatched to a report of a vandalism in progress. They contacted the subject who was in possession of spray paint and other graffiti related items. The subject admitted to painting the retaining wall and also told the Deputies that he is a spray paint enthusiast.

Auto Burglary
03/08/11 @ 0800 hours
Sevilla Ave, El Granada
Between 02-26-2011, at approximately 0800 hours, and 02-27-2011, at approximately 0900 hours, a citizen of El Granada was the victim of a Grand Theft from her vehicle.  Unknown suspect(s) entered her locked but unsecured vehicle through the partially rolled down driver’s side window. The unknown suspect(s) stole her Gateway laptop computer and her black leather purse containing miscellaneous items. She valued the total loss at approximately $7,760.00.
