Cash stolen from the visitor’s center at the Fitzgerald Marine Reserve, public intoxication from Montara to Princeton, a classic scam, …

The victim received a phone call from someone claiming to be from the U. S. Embassy saying that the victim’s grandson was in jail and required bail money. The victim believed the story and wired $6,500 by Western Union to what he thought was the U.S. Embassy. He later learned that his grandson was not incarcerated and that he had been scammed.

… an expensive mistake in an unknown location,…

Some time between 10/15/2011 at approximately 2030 hours, and 11/16/2011 at approximately 0959 hours, an unknown suspect took the victims vehicle from the driveway of his residence. The keys to the vehicle were left on the driver’s side floor board. The victim stated that there was $11,000 of cash in the vehicle as well as miscellaneous credit cards.

… we may be missing the backstory on this, …

The victim was riding his bike when a vehicle cut him off causing him to fall. The suspect got out of his vehicle and started hitting the victim with a bat. The victim was able to get home and call 911. The suspect was contacted and interviewed. He was arrested and transported to the county jail.
