Supervisor Horsley at MCC, Wednesday

Supervisor Don Horsley will appear at the Midcoast Community Council meeting on Wednesday, November 9, at 7:30 p.m. Supervisor Horsley is scheduled for 7:55.

Supervisor Horsley will attend and discuss several topics with the MCC. These items will include the following based on prior discussions at MCC meetings and input from the Supervisor. This discussion will continue in the MCC December 14 meeting:

Update on Highway 1 Planning with emphasis on public inclusion in the process. Concerns range from the specifics of safe crossings to overall plans for the corridor. Item 1: status release and public comment on the draft report from the Highway 1 Safety and Mobility Study. Item 2: the roadmap for the Transportation Management Plan (per LCP update) that will include the Highway corridor that extends from the end of the Highway 1 freeway in Pacifica to Highway 92’s intersection with the 280 freeway.

Princeton / Pillar Point Harbor: Item 1: Supervisor Horsley’s interest in overall “cleanup” of the area. Item 2: Treatment for the California Coastal Trail route through the area: Item 3: Harbor District office plans, environmental health of the harbor and the Supervisor’s interest to address issues in Princeton. Item 4: Supervisor Horsley’s recent comments on promoting “green business” in Pillar Point Item 5: Interest in maintaining the nature of the harbor and its commercial fishing. Item 6: Airport overlay planning process.

Improving connection between the MCC and county departments. Item 1: Develop strong partnerships between MCC committees and county departments. Item 2: Consideration of a “forum” utilizing the video coverage of MCC meetings to provide open communication between county departments and the community.
