Understanding Dementia for the Caregiver: Four Thursdays in Nov, Dec

Coastside Adult Day Helath Center will be offering the following community education classes, “Understanding Dementia for the Caregiver”.

The four session class is designed to increase one’s understanding of dementia. Here is an overview of each session:

November 11th 6:30 – 7:30 Dementia and the Brain: Brain structure and the neurological basis for dementia

November 18th The Effects of Dementia: How dementia manifests and presents in an affected person

December 2nd Treating Dementia: The current treatments available, and approaches to the disease both medical and psychological

December 9th Dementia Prevention: How to slow and prevent the onset of dementia

Classes will be held at Coastside Adult Day Health Center, 645 Correas Street in Half Moon Bay. The cost for the four class series is $20.00. There will be free care available for loved ones during the sessions. Please RSVP to Priscilla Ebersole the presenter at 650-5067. Ms. Ebersole received her bachelor’s in Neuroscience from UC Riverside’s Neuroscience Program. She is a published author in the Journal of Brain Research and has presented her research at the Society for Neuroscience Conference.
