What’s At Stake on Tuesday

The issue for San Mateo County is clear: we need new leadership with an independent voice for San Mateo County!

Our county is "struggling to find a site and funding for a new jail, wrestling with rising county employee pensions and salaries and aiming to close a $150 million budget deficit over the next five years." (Daily News, June 2)  It is time for new leadership that isn’t just more of the old boys network.

That’s why the San Mateo County Democratic Party, Sierra Club, former Congressman Pete McCloskey, Coastsider, Pacifica Riptide and hundreds of elected officials and community leaders countywide are endorsing me.  Thanks to all of you who have made this campaign a truly grassroots effort. People have come together to volunteer all over the peninsula because electing me is our best chance to bring responsive, accountable government to the people of San Mateo County and especially to the Coastside.
