Last August, in another event hosted by The Visionary Edge, Patten led people in the art of creating a dromenon or labyrinth--a potent symbol of healing and transformation. He will again teach participants how to construct and walk the labyrinth during this workshop and go deeper into the hidden meaning behind the "gate to heaven".

Using ancient wisdom passed down through generations, Celtic Druid and master teacher David Patten will lead a one-day workshop, The Druid’s Path, Saturday December 2, in Half Moon Bay. Hosted by The Visionary Edge, the workshop will teach people to see the world through new eyes, inspired by the age-old "wheel of life" common to cultures throughout the globe.

In this modern-day introduction to The Druid’s Path: The Journey of Coming to Our Senses, David Patten will reveal the code of the oghama, an old Celtic language of symbols that depict universal rhythms and patterns of life. He will show participants how to use these symbols to reconnect with the ever changing, yet constant, harmony and intelligence of nature.

"The Druid’s Path teaches us a radical approach to using our senses in everyday observation," said Patten, who is also a co-founder and teacher at the Nine Gates Mystery School, based in San Rafael, California. "We have forgotten how to see—because we have forgotten how to feel," he said. "I belong to an unbroken lineage of Druids dating back to prehistoric times from the Scottish Isles. I learned this ancient wisdom from my father and grandfather, it is in my blood." He explained that the oghama celebrates the correspondences between the physical world of nature and the felt experience of humans. "Each of us carries this heritage within," he said, "and the work we will do together is a kind of ‘archaeology of the soul’ that helps people reconnect with their common heritage. We are all related in and through the patterns and rhythms of nature."

"David is a true master teacher, and we are privileged to have him return to share his wisdom," said Reba Vanderpool, co-founder of The Visionary Edge. "Ancient wisdom traditions are re-emerging to help us balance our lives at a time when we really need them. David teaches an old Celtic language of symbols that continues to offer profound insights and meaning today—thousands of years later. People who join David in this workshop will replenish their souls. The Druid’s Path has the potential to change people’s lives in simple, yet extraordinary ways."
