Once again, Coastsider presents its album of our community’s Fourth of July Parade. Our usual photographer, Cheri Parr, has been immobilized by her recent knee surgery. So, her husband took the pictures this time around. Cheri will be back next year.

You can see our album on Coastsider’s Facebook page.  Also, please take a second to like our page while you’re there.

Sheriff’s Report, June 22

By on Sun, June 26, 2011

Two missing persons found—one walking along Highway 1, an auto burglary in Pescadero, a car window smashed but nothing taken at Devil’s slide, vandals puncture tires on two cars in Princeton in the morning and another key that evening in Princeton, and bad behavior:

Deputies came up behind a stalled vehicle on Hwy 1. When they approached the vehicle they saw that the driver was attempting to start the vehicle with a pair of pliers. They asked the driver for his license and registration but he was unable to provide either. He verbally gave them a false name, address and date of birth. The driver was arrested and the passenger called a family member to pick her up.

[...]

Deputies were dispatched to a report of a hysterical female who was screaming and crying. They contacted the female who told them that her son had pushed her out of the vehicle she was driving then fled the area in the vehicle. Deputies are familiar with the male subject and will be following up.

This includes the Sheriff’s report for the week ending June 5.

Help support rescue rings at Montara Beach

Howdy doodly do neighbors.  Its that time of year again.  The sun is shining, people are flocking to the beach, and...  yep, as I exited the surf this afternoon, I see that the last life ring + tether has apparently grown legs and walked away.  Or perhaps it has been relocated.  In any case, its the last one... time to order more.

It is what it is.  I expect replacing these to continue to be an annual act, at the least.  And: I ain't poor.  But nor am I loaded.

If anyone cares to help support the the cost of keeping these present, send donations c/o me at PO Box 370742.  Cookies and foreign currency accepted -- especially Costa Rican colónes.

For the similarly DIY inclined the equipment is product #251L (ring+tether) from marine-rescue.com
