View Montara Water & Sanitary District
A California Special District serving the communities of Montara and Moss Beach with solid waste, wastewater, and potable water services.
The district’s board is made up of five elected members who typically meet twice monthly at the District’s building at [8888 Cabrillo Highway](http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UTF8&hl=en&msa=0&ll=37.535526,-122.517772&spn=0.010294,0.020084&t=h&z=16&om=1&msid=116243905506174453640.000443003e36ac37cc109), right next door to the Point Montara Lighthouse and Hostel. Meetings generally start at 7:30PM. Agendas are posted at the office, at the Montara and Moss Beach post offices, and online.
The district has full-time staff for administrative and water operations.
Solid waste (trash, recycling) is collected by Seacoast Scavenger under a franchise agreement.
MWSD is a member of Sewer Authority Mid-Coastside (SAM). SAM’s staff, based at the plant in Half Moon Bay, operates and maintains the wastewater collection, transmission, and treatment systems.
